‘Lion King 3D’ continues to rule the box office with Moneyball a close second
Seventeen year old classic movie ‘ The Lion King’ which was re-released last week in 3D continues to rule the box office collections. The 3D version of the movie, although facing heavy competition from other recent big releases including Brad Pitt’s Moneyball, has still managed to emerge as a winner and continues to be the top box office grosser.
With an estimated collection of 22 million in the second weekend, ‘Lion King 3D’ is closely followed by Brad Pitt’s baseball drama ’Moneyball’ which has managed to surpass the 20 million mark at the box office.
Moneyball has received rave reviews from critics all over the movie industry and Brad Pitt’s performance in particular has been lauded almost unanimously.
The other recent release ‘Dolphin Tale’ is close on the heels of Moneyball in terms of box office collections and is followed by ’Abduction’ and ‘Killer Elite’
which have also managed to achieve decent collections.
